Do we view the world as it truly is, or do we only see what our brains can construct? The way in which we know our world has been a subject for debate and research for centuries. Philosophers and scientists have long debated these questions and have since come up with some surprising answers. National Geographic Channel (NGC) delivers many of these answers about the human mind in the all-new season of Brain Games IV.
This season, host Jason Silva reveals the science behind risk-taking, attraction, and trust through illusions, experiments, and on-the-street demonstrations. Along the way, we begin to learn the many mysteries of the mind. In the show, for instance, we learn that color is simply an invention of the brain. The colors we perceive on the many objects in our world are merely an illusion created by our brains interacting with the physical properties of light. In short, color does not exist. If we start with the idea that color is only a figment of our imagination, then is anything truly knowable? This mind-blowing question and many more are waiting to be answered this April on NGC's Brain Games IV.
