The distribution of the results of the survey had a mean of 21 hours and a standard deviation of 6 hours. The number of hours that Pat, a resident of Town X, watched television last week was between 1 and 2 standard deviations below the mean, Which of the belowing could be the number of hours that Pat watched television last week?

first problem, denote the number of cans as x, then we have the relationship 12*x+12*3*x=2006, x is approximately 42. So I can not find the answer in the options, so maybe the solution is wrong.

second problem, 1 standard deviation=6 then two standard deviations=12, so the number of hours is a number between 21-6 and 21-12, so between 9 and 15. pick a number in the options which is between 9 and 15.
