Dear Colleagues,
I am very excited to introduce the program for the 2006 Investment Actuary Symposium, co-sponsored by the Society of Actuaries and PRMIA (the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association). This year’s program has great appeal to any investment or finance professional working with life insurers or pension plan sponsors. With increasingly complex products and risk exposure, investment professionals no longer make investment decisions in isolation. Product designers, risk managers, and those responsible for evaluating the company’s financial condition should also have input. By broadening the scope of our program, we are recognizing the importance of cooperation and knowledge transference among all professionals who have a stake in the investment process.
The 2006 program features three tracks, covering core investment activities, finance activities and investment risk management activities. Over the course of two days, we are showcasing some of the industry’s top investment and insurance professionals as presenters. In addition, we have designed the program to offer several networking opportunities. For the first time, we have worked with the CFA Institute to ensure that participants will earn continuing education credits recognized by the CFA Institute.
If you are a portfolio manager, investment actuary, corporate actuary, or someone who needs a detailed knowledge of how investment decisions impact a company’s financial position, I hope you will mark your calendars for the 2006 Investment Actuary Symposium in New York City!
