Market impact: overall positive
Those inflection points are mainly due to low comparison bases, and to a lesser
extent to sequential momentum. Though most investors have been well informed
about this dramatic change in comparison base, the market is unlikely to price in

Regarding inflation, it seems that Beijing now starts to put more emphasis on m-o-
m inflation instead of the less useful (and sometimes misleading) y-o-y inflation
numbers. That being said, the fact that y-o-y CPI inflation turned positive is being
widely discussed by the media and the market, so it might trigger some concern
on inflation and may impact people’s expectation on policies related to interest
rates and utility prices (water, power and gas).
