US regulator has asked the judge to hold Elon Musk in contempt, sayingElon Musk has broken his agreement to no longer tweet information hinting at the company's performance. So weremember that deal last year when Elon Musk posted a joke about potentiallytaking Tesla private,
taking it off the stock market. He said it was a joke that move themarkets, it made Tesla stock go up and because of that he was punished by theSEC, the Securities and Exchange Commission, because they saidthat was against their roles for a public company. Part of that punishment hehad to pay $20 million, he had to step down aschairman of Tesla, and the third thing he had to do was from then on get priorapproval everytime he wanted to tweet something aboutthe company that could have an effect on their stock price. And now the SECsays that on 19 February, just after 7pm in the evening New York time, hetweeted that Tesla will make about 500,000 cars in 2019. The company hasadmitted, the SEC say, that Elon Musk did not get approval before he sent that
tweet, and now, that is why the SEC thinks he has broken his court order, this agreement to no longer share that kind of information without gettingapproval from the financial bosses at Tesla. So once again,Elon Musk has found himself tweeting his way into a lot of trouble.
Thenext generation of mobile phone technology,5G, promises much faster downloads. It was the main buzz at the industry eventin Barcelona. Our technology correspondent has more. 5G, the futureof faster, more efficient mobile connections. It is ever wear at this show, even though it won't arrive until late this year at the earliest. But what willit mean in practice? The skyship is an aerial drone powered by5G. There is a 5G controller in the skyship, and it basically controls thedrones, so it drops drones down to take video ofanything underneath. And that would not be possible with 4G? Absolutely not,you won't get the quality of the video, you need to groundcontrol. All sorts of everyday objects will be connected via 5G. So one use ofthis 5G car, I can download an Ultra-high-definition 4K movie on themove. But there are also some safety features built into the car. In thispart of Barcelona, there is an experimental 5G network, and sensors have beenfitted to traffic lights, and even a bicycle, sending warningalerts to the car at high speed. Game is also are promised a better experienceon the move. Another big advantage of 5G is lowlatency. That means the length of time between me pressing a button andsomething happening, and it is much, much smaller on 5G comparedto 4G. And that means cloud gaming, where all the data is held off yourmachine, in the cloud, is a lot better and a lot easier. Let's have a look.Every movement I make is translated in the virtual world far moresmoothly than it would be over 4G network. But, even as the mobile operatorsprepared to give us 5G, they admit they can't predict how we willuse it. 4G was a great moment in Mobile, we saw the likes of Netflix and Facebookreally kickstart their growth with a faster, betternetwork experience. We don't yet know what the killer applications are going tobe, but there is no doubt everytime we roll out fasternetworks, new services are created, and that is the exciting thing. One thingis for sure, a mobile networks are getting ever more crowded. The hope isthat 5G will help relieve the congestion.
