there's no economist listed on this world ranking. it's hard for Chinese to be on top ranking. I think there are reasons:
1. ways of thinking.
we are too familiar with "experts say...". how many of us have critical thinkings when reading an essay? how many of us bear logical minds when following a writer's thoughts?
2, language
it's hard to be a world recognized economist without publishing essays on the top economic magazines. but our economists don't quite speak English, or even if they do, they can't write to express.
3, system
either systematic trainings of a suitable system to promote research. there's no field research, no first hand data, and because of the country's situation, it's hard for economists to imagine some economic arena out of what they can conceive.
hope you guys form a new generation - knowledge is a base, critical thinking is a key.
