经济史研究的是某一个地区经济方面的历史，经济学说史研究的是经济学说方面的历史。研究对象完全不同。

Economic history is the study of how economic phenomena evolved from a historical perspective. Analysis in economic history is undertaken using a combination of historical methods, statistical methods and by applying economic theory to historical situations. The topic includes business history, financial history and overlaps with areas of social history such as demographic history and labor history.
The history of economic thought deals with different thinkers and theories in the subject that became political economy and economics from the ancient world to the present day.

经济史是针对某一地区的社会经济现实而言的，经济学说史是针对经济学这个学科而言的。前者的研究对象是社会经济现象，后者的研究对象是某一种学说的发展历程。
