Methods: 156 acute stroke patients were randomly divided into the rehabilitation group and control group . The rehabilitation group was treated general rehabilitation. The control group was treated only with routine medications. The NIHSS, FMA and ADL were assessed in all the patients after 35 days. Results: The scores on NIHSS , FMA and ADL all have significant difference in the two groups comparing before and after treatment£¨p£¼0.05£©, the scores in rehabilitation group were significantly better than in the control group£¨p£¼0.05£©. Conclusion: Early general rehabilitation therapy has more effectiveness on reduction of neurlolgical deficit, improving the recovery of motor function and the daily life abilities for hemiplegia after acute stroke.
