Hi,
-sorry for delay to reply ...
-SAS ETL Studio is former version of DI Studio (Data Integration Studio), which is a complicated system (for building DW/DM) consisting of subsystems/functionality at least:
     1. Design and data profiling.
     2. Source data extraction.
     3. Transformation and loading.
     4. Change data capture.
     5. Quality review, auditing and exception handling/management.
     6. Integration with the production environment and business process components.
-So, it it hard to say it clearly in a few words. furthermore I'm not good at ETL..., so can not give more detail...
-recommended reading:  "SAS Data Integration Studio User’s Guide" (I have for 4.21, if need I can e-mail it to you)
