Rule 1.人生并不公平─你要适应它。
Rule 1: Lifeis not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2:The world won't care aboutyour self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE youfeel good about yourself.

Rule 3:You will NOT make 40thousand dollars a year right out of high school.
You won't be a vice-president witha car phone, until you earn both.

Rule 4:If you think your teacheris tough, wait till you get a boss. He doesn't have tenure.

Rule 5.煎汉堡并不会让你有失身分，你的祖父母对煎汉堡有不同的定义，他们称之为 ─ 机会。
Rule 5:Flipping burger is notbeneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a
different word for burger flippingthey called it opportunity.

Rule 6.如果你搞砸了，那并不是你父母的错，因此，不要抱怨你的错误，而是从中记取教训。
Rule 6:If you mess up, it's notyour parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7.在你出生之前，你的父母并不像现在这么乏味，他们之所以如此，是因此他们一直在支付你的账单、清洗你的衣服、听你说你自己有多酷。因此想要拯救父母那一辈子的寄生虫，请先清除你房间里的蚤子做起。
Rule 7:Before you were born, yourparents weren't as boring as they now are.
They got that way from paying yourbills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you are.So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parents'generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8. 你的学校可能已经废除优等生和劣等生的分法，但人生并没有。在某些学校里，他们已经废除了所谓不及格的分数，只要你想找到对的答案，他们就会给你无 数的机会，但这跟现实世界里的情况可是一点都不像。
Rule 8:Your school may have doneaway with winners and losers but life has not. In some schools they aveabolished failing grades and they'll give you as many times as you want to getthe right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in reallife.

Rule 9.生命并不是以学期来划分的。你不会有暑假，更不会有老板有兴趣帮助你发现自我，你得自己找时间做。
Rule 9:Life is not divided intosemesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested inhelping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10.电视并非真实的人生。在真实的世界里，人们得离开咖啡厅去工作。
Rule 10:Television is NOT reallife. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go tojobs.

Rule 11.友善的对待讨厌鬼，你可能最后会为其中一个人工作。
Rule 11:Be nice to nerds. Chancesare you'll end up working for one.
