2006年初，<A href="http://blog.sohu.com/manage/entry.do?m=edit&id=95778494&t=shortcut#" target=_blank>各大媒体</A>争相报道华尔街电讯评出的“<A href="http://bbs.icxo.com/viewthread.php?tid=90167&extra=page%3D1%26amp%3Bfilter%3Ddigest" target=_blank>中国十大经济学家</A>”，按排名顺序，即：张五常（Steven N.S. Cheung）、钱颖一（Yingyi Qian）、郎咸平（HP Lang, Larry）、林毅夫（Justin Yifu Lin）、邹恒甫（Heng-fu Zou）、吴敬琏（Jinglian Wu）、张维迎（Weiying Zhang）、李稻葵（David D, Li）、陈志武（Zhiwu Chen）、田国强（Guoqiang Tian）。
值得注意的是，在这十个人中，吴敬琏（Jinglian Wu）是唯一一个没有留过洋拿过洋学位的人。
