Because of infrared remote control devices have some points of small size, low power, consumption functionality, low cost and so on, besides the color TV, VCR, also the infrared remote control is used in tape recorders, audio equipment, air conditioners, as well as toys and other small electrical devices. The design of the circuit for the infrared remote controller based on the single-chip microcomputer STC89C51 is discussed and the components of the hardware circuit are given. The paper describes how to use single-chip accurate STC89C51 transmitting and receiving infrared remote control signal, and the corresponding procedures are written. The experimental result indicates this kind of remote controller is convenient and practical. Keywords: STC89C51 single-chip infrared-ray remote-control
