I happened to have some experience which is going to share with you below.

1. Know the entity,
its history, its brand, its competitive edge etc.

2. know how this section function
how to generate revenue, which is the riskiest part of its operation? how to mitigate it

3. why you want to do it?
your strengthen, your unique skill set, etc

They know what you have, just relax and be yourself.

Are you talking about the section which sells auto loan to customers?

If so, they help the entity realize revenue in advance.
They lend money to those incapable customers in return for interest.
The collateral may be the vehicle itself.

Nowadays, they won't hold the load till its maturity.
Normally, they will sell the car loan to a intermediate financial institution where the loan pooled up and turned into securities for further transaction in the national or global market.
